Sri GCSR College
follows the Andhra Pradesh Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1997
in letter and spirit. Ragging is banned not only by SGCSRC, but it is also
banned by the Supreme Court of India. Accordingly, SGCSRC takes a stern view of
any and all acts of ragging and takes stringent action against the
perpetrators. With a view to discourage, prevent and pre-empt acts of ragging,
SGCSRC has several measures in place. These include:
1.
Anti-ragging posters displayed on: a) The main
notice board b) ll departmental notice
boards c) Ladies Waiting Hall d)
Library,
canteen and other prominent places on
campus
2. Anti-ragging committees for
monitoring the welfare of fresh students outside
the campus
3. Every student also gives a
formal undertaking not to indulge in any
ragging
The anti-ragging committee was
constituted for the academic year 2009-10 with the
following members
The
first meeting of the committee was held on
22.07.2009.
The following resolutions were made which
are to be implemented during the academic
year.
1.
To
educate the students about ragging and its
consequences
2.
Every
student has to submit an undertaking signed by
themselves and their parent / guardian assuring
non-involvement from ragging,
eve-teasing
3.
Wide
publicity to be given in the campus through wall
posters, guest lecturers and class counselors
regarding ragging and its consequences.
4.
Involving
NCC cadets and NSS volunteers identified by their
respective officers in prevention of
ragging
5.
Faculty
will keep a watch during the lunch session /
Leisure time in the corridors / Library / dining
hall.
6.
Any
ragging incidents brought to the notice of the
committee
7.
Any
ragging incidents brought to the notice of the
committee, immediately recommends necessary action
to the Principal.
